HOW TO SAVE WHEN BUYING STEERING AND SUSPENSION CAR PARTS?
We are sure you have been hearing a lot about cheap car parts from Asian countries and have asked your self over and over how is with quality of these car parts.
Our company has more than 30 years of experiences with
steering and suspension car parts and that is why we can help you with the answer.
In most cases, Asian car parts are very cheap, but are less quality parts. Because their price is very cheap, many people decide to buy them. People think they will save money with buying them, but if we look on this more closely, this is not true in most cases.
Example:
Lets take comparison with our, Prekom, manufactured car part and part X, which was few Euros cheaper from Prekom part.
Purchase nr. 1 (X car part)
Buyer has decided to rather buy cheaper X part, even though he is not sure about its quality and where exactly the part was made. The X part costs 15€. The buyer goes to his automechanic, where he needs to pay 20€ for assembling the new part on the car.
After few months the part X is broken down. Let say that the car parts shop took the X part under reclaim (does not happen very often though), but the buyer gets the same X part back. With that second X part our costumer goes back to his automechanic and pays 20€ again for changing the part.
Consequence:
Lets say that the costumer changed the X part two times in a year. Because the first X part was under reclaim, the cost was 15€. Adding 2x visit with automechanic: 2x 20€ = 40€
Total cost: 15€ (X part) + 40€ (2x automechanic) = 55€
Purchase nr. 2 (Prekom car part)
Our buyer decides to buy rather a little bit more expensive car part Prekom, because he knows exactly who the producer is and that our company Prekom, specialists in steering and suspension car parts, stands behind the quality with one year warranty and without any limits on driven kilometres/ miles. The Prekom part costs 18€. Our buyer goes to his automechanic, who charges 20€ for a visit.
The Prekom part last on the car without any problems more than a year.
Consequence:
Let say that the costumer changed the part Prekom once in a year. Adding 1x visit with automechanic: 1x 20€ = 20€
Total cost: 18€ (Prekom part) + 20€ (1x automechanic) = 38€
How much did our costumer saved: X part (55€) – Prekom part (38€) = 17€.
Buying smart is always looking two steps forward and in our example, the costumer who bought Prekom part, saved 17€, not even mentioning the cost of his/ her time, bad mood etc.
Sometimes the price for a product is really lower, but in many cases there are hidden costs behind that, on which we don’t think when buying something. And that is why some products are just not worth buying cheap and as a result we can even save on long term.
We need to mention also very important fact when it comes to buy cheap car parts, which in general do not match up with high quality standards. Sometimes these parts can as well be very dangerous. You can put your life under a question, a life of your travelling companions or someone who is passing you…. Just think, what all can happen when driving with high speed on a highway and a tie rod breaks on your suspension…
It often accurse, that car shops import all kinds of spare car parts, which are not tested and checked. Most employers in shops also don’t have the technical knowledge how to even check if the part is bad or good quality.

IS INDUSTRIAL REBUILDING OF STEERING AND SUSPENSION CAR PARTS ANY GOOD?

THREE MOST ASKED QUESTIONS
Tie rod ends – are they having air and need to be changed?
If it is air in your tie rod end, you can check with turning your steering wheel left and right. Be careful to watch your front wheels. If the wheels are not turning left and right like the steering wheel does, it is possible that there is air in your tie rod end and it needs to be changed. Also, if you drive on a bumpy road and you hear clattering while driving, you can be sure, your tie rod end has air and it needs to be changed. The last stage is that when you drive on a bumpy road, it seems like you don’t have any control on your vehicle. We advise you to visit your automechanic, before driving any more.

Front control arms / wishbones – how do I feel they have air and need to be changed?
Knowing you have air in your wishbones / control arms is very important, because otherwise that can bring you to unpleasant use of your front tires and high costs for buying new.
The air effect is mostly common in ball joint or silent bloc / bush (rubber) on your wishbone / control arm. Same as with the tie rod end, you will notice the air effect easily while driving on a bumpy road. You will hear unpleasant sound, clattering in your suspension. The air effect is also noticed if you stop and than start driving. The feeling you will get is like the wheels want to go different way than your steering wheel does. The best thing in the upper two cases is to change the wishbones / control arms as soon as possible. No one wants additional costs with changing used tires due to the air effect.

Steering and suspension car parts and delivery?
In our company Prekom we have our own daily delivery for domestic market or we dispatch shipments threw normal post. Our way of work is to send back the rebuild parts, the same day as we get them. You can also deliver the parts by your self and wait about 2 hours and your part is rebuild. If ordering something in stock, we dispatch the order the same day as the order is received.
For foreign costumers, we work with different express companies like UPS, DHL, FedEx etc. Our foreign costumers send us parts for rebuilding and we try to make their turnaround as soon as possible. The time for turnaround depends on the sent quantities, but normally never takes more than 2-3 weeks, even if we get the whole pallet. If there are only few parts, we can ship back in few days.
